I know this is old but how are you making out so far with those properties? Anybody I know who lives in DR wants to leave because they say the economy sucks and there is no money.

This is still going on right? I plan on attending.

@johnhickey I would love to go if it is open to anyone.

interested when rescheduled.

so are you guys buying properties with tenants already in place and then weeding out the bad tenants? Or starting from scratch? Also, if starting from scratch how much reno work arw you doing? Making it livable or doing higher end remodels and renting to a different class of people all together?

I was in the city of Newburgh today scoping out properties. I actually just got home and I cant believe the amount of properties being fixed up. All I can say is WOW!!! Almost everywhere I looked there was some type of improvement being done. I hope the ball has started rolling for this city to be on its way up, and I hope I can find something there as well. Id really love to build a portfolio there.

When is the next meetup? I would love to attend.

Disorganized and destructive are 2 seperate things. If the person has clutter etc. Than I wouldnt let that get in the way of anything. If the tenant looks like they are breaking things than I would consider them to be a problem. I tolerate certain things that any other property owner might think im crazy for, but I also tolerate them because I have tenants who pay on time, every single month and never make a complaint. They also dont break anything.

Im wondering if anyone has tried to invest in Santiago, Dominican Republic or any other part of the island and how has it worked out for you. I am thinking of buying a property and either renting it or airbnb.
