Hey @Sarah Manshel,

I am biased as well. I live and invest in Des Moines Iowa. I moved here recently because of the opportunities. There’s a really nice steady growth of jobs and population. We have a very stable workforce and infrastructure. With the next downturn, this market makes me more comfortable than any other area that I’m invested in.

I’d love to help if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Hey @Evan Hurd,
Welcome to BP!  There's a fantastic group of people here, both locally and nationally.  You're in the right place.
Let us know what questions you have.
There's also a good meetup in the Des Moines area - iThink Real Estate.  Next meeting is 12/14.  I'll send you details.  Good luck!

Hello @Michelle Sobalvarro!

Des Moines is a great market!  I’ve been investing there for about a year now.  Multifamily is hot, but much more affordable than where you’re from!  Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help!

Hello @Justin Carpenter,
Good to have another Des Moines investor active on BP!

Congrats on the house hack, sounds like it's off to a fantastic start.
Thanks @Lane Kawaoka for the recommendation.  We would love to have you stop by the meetup if you are free.

Let me know if there's anything I can do for you!

How large a role does financing play in your real estate journey? ...a big one.How large a role does your lender play in your financing? …a big one.How large a role do relationships play in Real Estate? …a big one.A great relationship with your lender can have a huge impact on your business as a whole. One can argue to continually shop around for the best rates for each of your deals. But there’s also an argument that it may be good short term, but having a long term relationship, someone that can be a part of your team, can help your business.Join us as we talk to two commercial lenders as they talk about the ins and outs of the mortgage business and how it can help you.

Hey @Nathan See,

Congrats on the first post!

Des Moines is blowing up the last few years.

What type of investment are you looking at?  There are some great submarkets, but obviously it depends on what you're jumping into.

I'd love to chat sometime!  Let us know how we can help.

Where are you stuck?

As our tribe has grown and expanded over time, we've gotten to know investors at all levels of the business. We have a great group of people that are using real estate to achieve different goals and purposes. Whether you are a buy and hold investor, or a flipper. Whether you're looking for your first property, or your 5th property, or your 100th...we all hit walls in our investor journey.

So where are you stuck?

For those that have been a part of this club for a while, you'll agree that you don't break down walls sitting at home by yourself. The biggest breakthroughs come by getting around other like-minded and hardworking people and creating value together.

Come join us for our next meeting on Thursday September 21 at the RiverWalk Hub.

And invite a friend to come! Let's break down these walls together!

There are a lot of bad ones!  There are a lot of difficulties that come with D class, but nothing is unmanageable!  I'll send you a PM.
