Thanks all for the replies!

Thanks @Lee Smith  I've had some time trying to find a good foundation guy in Indy.  I had a couple minor bowing of old brick foundations and some minor water intrusion also.  The last guy I hired from Angie's List that had good reviews did an 'ok' job on one of my properties out there.  It was a bowing brick wall and all he did was shore it up with skim coating of the wall that was bowing and added some concrete hollow blocks in front of the bowing wall.  This resulted in a smaller entry space down into the basement.  This is not what I expected after what we talked about.  I assumed they would tear down the bowed wall and put in a new hollow block wall.  It didn't cost me an arm and a leg but didn't think that was the most appropriate approach.  The other folks I've contacted have said that these projects are out of their scope even though their ad descriptions clearly state they repair foundations and take care of everything around it.  But then they say things like "You need a masonry guy" or "you need someone who can excavate", blah blah.  And they have no referrals.  Beats me?!?

Do you have any good contacts?

I've tried Angie's List with no luck and my local contractor does not have any good foundation contacts either.  If you know of a reputable foundation contractor in Indy, please let me know!

Thank you,

-Leo

@Evan Manship

Hey Evan!  Did you ever pursue the condo conversion for this?  If so, i would be interested in hearing more about the process and how the investment made out for you.

Thanks!

@Ross Denman  I've contacted the local credit unions in Indy and you either have to be a resident or work a certain time period in the state for them to consider lending to you.  Can you please forward me the contact info to this credit union?  Thank you!

Leo

Hi @Christine Mwai  Perform a quick search for portfolio lenders.  There are a slew of them mentioned here on BP (ie. b2r, lima one) that have less stringent requirements than conventional financing.
