No. Don’t call property managers they just want your money. All of it.
Go on AirBnB and VRBO and study your market. Obsess with a yellow pad for a few hours or a few days and you’ll get an idea.
In the vacation rental game it’s more than likely that if you don’t self manage you won’t make money.
I self manage 5 with a day job and I’m an idiot.

@Julie McCoy I love how we’ve abandoned the group text and communicate through the forum now lol.
I’m sure @Neal Collins will have hundreds of stoners with no credit lining up to do that gig! Seriously though I bet you could do a cattle call and sift through to find someone awesome. I wouldn’t look on AirBnB for a co host I would hire an employee that does what you tell them.

I wouldn’t do it in the add. I would do it tastefully on the app before during and or after the stay.
And I think you should vote on both of my posts because I’ve provided you with decent info.
See how it works? ;)

No season here either. I’ve put them up before I was even closed. Stole some pics off the internet and off we go. I wouldn’t do that if it’s your first time and it sounds like you’re past that point anyway.
I start them out very cheap with very specific wording that says they’re only getting it cheap because it’s new and you need great reviews. Never be afraid to ask or even pay for an awesome review.
Headline should say something like “NEW LISTING SPECIAL” so they know exactly why you don’t have any reviews yet.
Good luck!

Good news! We tested the TV after check out and it turns out there’s nothing wrong with it. False alarm! Guest must have had way too much moonshine. It’s hard to imagine a millennial AirBnB user that can’t figure out a smart tv ;)
Thanks for all the great advice anyway.

Mark Hughes this is the vacation rental forum you’re in the wrong place. Come hang over here when you’re ready to make some big dough ;)
Dave Homyak I do agree with you that AirBnB beats the crap out of us over reviews and generally leans towards taking the guests side but I’ve got to tell you I’m not excited about all of the millennial cracks in this forum. How is that any different than stereotyping due to race or sex? This is the vacation rental forum we should all be aware that we can’t discriminate due to age.

This tv was mounted on the wall above the fireplace almost at the ceiling in a 600sq ft 2 person honeymoon cabin in the mountains. There were no factory workers or pornos or plastic bins involved.
Ok I can’t be sure about the porno.

**** I checked Walmart.com the TV is actually $399. Which makes me less interested in pursuing this.

Watch Black Mirror episode "Nosedive" on Netflix.
This is how airbnb makes us feel at all times. Let me know what you think!
