I will add this . One of my good subs has 25 employees , There is a girl in his office that makes a bit over minimum wage . She is a single mother with 1 child and one on the way and lives with the father who owns his house and  has a great paying job .  She has been not the greatest employee and they want to let her go but were afraid of a lawsuit .  SO WAIT FOR THIS 

THEY GAVE HER A RAISE , yes , increased her pay , more money . And she was livid , upset , mad , turned it down .  WHY ?     BECAUSE SHE WOULD LOSE ALLher benefits  .  So she begged them to fire her . BECAUSE if she quit she wouldnt get unemployment on top of the absurd amount of benefits she was getting . ( the amount she gets is between $50k and $70K based on what she showed a coworker) . 

Oh , she drives a 2022 suburban which the baby daddy co signed on ( $47,000 )  

THIS IS WHATS WRONG WITH  OUR SYSTEM

At $50 an hour, that's five hours of shoveling. At $100 an hour, it's 2.5 hours. There's no way it takes that long to shovel the sidewalk on a building of that size.

Shop around and I'm sure you'll find someone that does it for much cheaper.

 Thats why we dont charge by hour for snow , its by the push , or by the inch . 

Snow plowing is an emergency service , we are on call 24/7 for the entire winter , the prices you pay cover the salt that we stock , the prep for each storm , the desalting of the trucks , the overtime . Not just the plowing and salting itself .  ( I keep 30 tons on hand before each storm ) 

We are sending trucks and men out in terrible conditions for long periods of time , at all hours of the day . To get things done as quick as possible , charging by the hour cost the contractor money , charging by the push/inch  is the most profitable way to do snow . 

@Alecia Loveless  We plow AND salt , we dont give the customer an option .  You have to plow and salt each storm to prepare  for the next storm . We use SNOW plows and SNOW blowers , not ICE plows or ICE blowers .

You dont need to be a citizen of this country to own a business . A Illegal simply starts a business entity , gets an EIN and insurances . But the trick is they claim very little income or never file taxes at all . This is how they do banking . They start a construction company , work as a sub , the General now has been given all they need . They pay the sub by check , the sub deposits the check , pulls out cash and pays his guys in cash . If he gets caught , start another business rinse and repeat

@Jordan LaneyI have been plowing since the early 1980s .  And its always been a 2 inch trigger to start , we start at 2 inches and continue thru out the storm .  You may be serviced 3 times during the storm and a final clean up and salting after the storm . So your $250 per push on a 10 inch snow storm could easily be $2000 for both buildings . With thawing and refreezing  retreating it will be more .      

Commercial buildings use triple net , and those costs get passed on to the tenants thru CAM fees .  And the tenants always complain the lots not being done fast enough , then they complain of the costs .  

Snow removal will always cost $$$

I believe that it will effect the rental market harder in blue states than red states due to the sanctuary city policies . To get the biggest bang for the buck , I would go where the highest concentration of illegals live . Why catch 5 when you can catch 50 in one sweep . 

I believe that they will go after criminals first , then go to businesses that employ a large group , then to areas where a majority live .  Once this starts , a lot will self deport . 

But only time will tell

Offer much less than zillow says . Zillow is only an estimation .
