Big welcome to the site @Bo Thompson , thanks for introducing yourself to everyone! It would take forever to know every niche in REI. That's how I felt at the beginning. I decided on my goals, and went with a strategy that "reached out" at me after doing some general research on some things that interest me. I'm now a buy & hold investor. They say not to become a jack of all trades, but an expert in one! Then you can branch out to other things.

Hope that helps, I've just seen too many people get caught up in the "learn everything phase" and never make it out!
