Hello, is anyone seriously planning to jump on the metro as soon as the decision has been announced? I'd like to prepare, i.e. get pre-approved, build a network of potential realtors / partners, but I'm a total newbie and don't really know where to start from.

If you have any ideas on:

1) What's the best way to jump into the wagon?

2) What can be done in advance?

3) In which metro of the top contenders it's possible to find a cash-flow property? Which are markets with reasonable REI climate? (Positive cash-flows, landlord friendly laws, etc.?)

  1. Atlanta
  2. Washington, DC
  3. Boston
  4. Newark (NYC area)
  5. New York
  6. Philadelphia
  7. Chicago
  8. Denver
  9. Austin
  10. Dallas

Thank you for sharing your opinions!

These 10 are top contenders per https://beta.techcrunch.com/2018/01/22/new-study-predicts-atlanta-has-best-shot-at-becoming-amazons-hq2/

Atlanta is all but out of the running because the state government attacked one of their largest employers... Delta Airlines.  They have shown they are neither business friendly or trust worthy.

I would have a large section of sheetrock removed and see what is going on behind it.

I am not sure if it that is the foundation.  It looks like there has been a sheetrock patch.  The bottom seam of the patch is just below the top of the mirror.  Do you know what caused that part of the sheetrock to be removed?

@Grant D.  Then keep it.  Don't be surprised if the same places keep moving.

@Grant D.   If it bothers you, I would suggest listing the house.  Try to get a report from the structural engineer saying it is normal in case the issue comes up during or after the transaction.

Check your lease.  Many leases actually cover this.  It is always fun to ask young people who they want to get their stuff if they die, while they fill out rental documents.

Here is some information about PA laws.

To me this sounds more like some of the other government assistance programs more than section 8.

@Tom Gimer  is an expert on this.  I think when the title company asked for a payoff you should told them what information you needed before you could provide it.

@Account Closed   It is much more than six.  They do not care about number 11 but everything else is at minimum concerning to companies like Apple and Amazon.

This year the Democrats asked these questions on their ballot.

Prop #1 on a Right to a 21st Century Public Education

Should everyone in Texas have the right to quality public education from pre-k to 12th grade, and affordable college and career training without the burden of crushing student loan debt?

Prop #2 on Student Loan Debt

Should everyone in Texas have the right to refinance student loan debt with the Federal Reserve at a 0% interest rate, as relief for the crushing burden of debt and an investment in the next generation of Americans?

Prop #3 on a Right to Healthcare

Should everyone in Texas have a right to healthcare, guaranteed by a universal, quality Medicare-for-all system?

Prop #4 on a Right to Economic Security

Should everyone in Texas have the right to economic security, where all workers have earned paid family and sick leave and a living wage that respects their hard work?

Prop #5 on a National Jobs Program

Should the Democratic Party promote a national jobs program, with high wage and labor standards, to replace crumbling infrastructure and rebuild hurricane damaged areas, paid for with local, state, and federal bonds financed through the Federal Reserve at low interest with long term maturities?

Prop #6 on a Right to Clean Air, Safe Water, and a Healthy Environment

Should everyone in Texas have the right to clean air, safe water, and a healthy environment?

Prop #7 on a Right to Dignity & Respect

Should everyone in Texas have the right to a life of dignity and respect, free from discrimination and harassment anywhere, including businesses and public facilities, no matter how they identify, the color of their skin, who they love, socioeconomic status, or from where they come?

Prop #8 on a Right to Housing

Should everyone in Texas have the right to affordable and accessible housing and modern utilities including high speed internet, free from any form of discrimination?

Prop #9 on a Right to Vote

Should every eligible Texan have the right to vote, made easier by automatic voter registration, the option to vote by mail, a state election holiday, and no corporate campaign influence, foreign interference, or illegal gerrymandering?

Prop #10 on a Right to a Fair Criminal Justice System

Should everyone in Texas have the right to a fair criminal justice system that treats people equally and puts an end to the mass incarceration of young people of color for minor offenses?

Prop #11 on Immigrant Rights

Should there be a just and fair comprehensive immigration reform solution that includes an earned path to citizenship for law-abiding immigrants and their children, keeps families together, protects DREAMers, and provides workforce solutions for businesses?

Prop #12 a Right to Fair Taxation

Should everyone in Texas have the right to a fair tax system, where all interests (business, corporations, and individuals) pay their share, so that state government meets its obligations?

I really do not like the idea of proposition on primary ballots.
