@Von Bradley - Welcome to BP, RE Investing, and particularly to the Omaha investing team! It's great that you're educating yourself about REI. What is your first step going to be?

@Jarodd Butler - It would appear blue like this once it tags the person. Thanks for the attempt though! Welcome to BP Jarodd. It was great to meet you yesterday at the REIA meeting.
House hacking is definitely the way to go if you want to get your feet wet in real estate. You learn some things about being a landlord, you learn the process of purchasing a home. If you buy a home that needs some TLC you get a little bit of what it's like to be a flipper. All good things to know.
Wholesaling is a great way to be involved in the real estate market without having the cash it takes to jump straight in to long term rentals. It can be a great way to get into the market and to build up some cash. If you're willing to hustle and put in the work required it can be very rewarding, but it is definitely a JOB in the realm of real estate. There is nothing passive about starting a wholesale business.
Looking forward to the great things you do Jarodd!

Welcome to BP @Melissa Davis!
We're happy to have you here with us. The Omaha1 REIA meeting last night was a very informative meeting. Andy Alloway, the President of the Nebraska Realtors Association and one of the head guys at Nebraska Realty gave a talk on market trends for the city of Omaha. He did a fantastic job. Also, the REIA meetings don't require you to "qualify" haha. You're interested in RE Investing therefore you are already pre-qualified!
If you have any questions definitely post them in the forums and everyone will do their best to answer your questions. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want to know anything specific!
Again, welcome to the BP community!

@Joshua Russell - There is a REIA1 meeting tonight at 7:00PM if you're interested in attending. @Lance A White & @Owen Dashner both mentioned it. There are on average 20-30 investors that attend.
I look forward to seeing you there!

@Tyler Bundy I'm still fairly new at this, but I am a wholesaler and loving it. I am also househacking my first rental property at the moment. Being an agent, what advantages do you think that will give you in REI?
