As Russell and Nathan have stated, we have tried this in the past with negative feedback and are always looking for ways to improve our users experience on the forums. We continue to have the conversation around what is the best experience and will always put our communities feedback as the number one consideration when making changes. 

We currently do not have any immediate plans change the forums to be a threaded experience like Reddit as you stated, but if there are any updates I will keep everyone posted and answer any questions I can!

There have been a few books that helped me get over the internal struggle lacking confidence to pursue REI early on that I look back on were motivational and anecdotal more than tactical which was exactly what I needed at the time being so foreign to the idea of investing.

Personally, reading has been vital from a motivational and strategy building view early on and now having a few years of experience my reading has shifted, but I still look to educate myself on the unknown that I lack real world experience in. There is massive value educating yourself before getting your hands dirty and I will always take that approach whether it be a small project around the house or a large idea like a new acquisition!

Here are some tips for networking and making the most of your account.

1) I'd fill out your profile fully before you do anything else! As that will at least help folks that you reach out to know that you are a real person, with a picture and professional bio. Particularly be sure to include your goals for real estate investing so that folks can help you.

2) Follow your favorite forum topics and set up keyword alerts! Adding keywords related to your investment strategy or market locations can be updated in your settings. You’ll receive notifications when there is conversation in the forums you follow or if a user mentions those keywords—so keep them updated often!

3) Check out some of the local meetups that you can find in this forum! There are so many so be sure to filter by your location.
