Giving my username/password combo to a credit tracking site like creditchecktotal doesn't bother me. If the company is providing a service I am requesting then usually theres an agreement in place regarding its use and those logins can always be changed. What I do wonder is how many people can actually qualify for the full non-recourse amount as claimed? If the limits are inline with what @Ronald Perich describes; I might go mad setting up my spread sheet and having an additional 30 ($150K/$5K) accounts to track each month. But if these loans are simple interest on what you borrow, they might have a nice fit for those short term needs at such a low rate; even after that hefty 15% fee.

Like @Jay Hinrichs says, I've only seen this product for credit cards and yes it would be nice if the OP had "John" respond in the Marketplace; seeing he is the one in a position to best answer any questions.

It appears pretty obvious you had a finance contingency. Not sure what the remainder of the document states but I would pursue your earnest money refund to the fullest extent. Good luck. Keep us up to date.

Clint the following is an excerpt I took from Texas Department of State Health Services (

http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/asbestos/pubs.shtm )

"Single residences (fourplex or smaller) are exempt from state and federal asbestos regulations if the property continues to be used as a single residence after the demolition or renovation."

You could go ahead and remove the tiles but do eveything you can to try and not break them. I would also encourage you to wear a protective suit, wear an N95 rated mask, goggles, gloves and shoe covers. The tiles should be bagged and along with your protective gear sent to your local hazard disposal facility along with your used and bagged gear.

Typically we don't worry about asbestos in residential homes unless its friable material such as vermiculite or gyspum insulation.

Hope this helps some.

Try

http://atlasplus.dcgis.dc.gov/

select layers > environment > soil type

then put your address in "location" box on the right.

you can also use USDA.GOV.

If they want a compression test because of the addition then you need a soils engineer.

Thanks @Steve Babiak

I'll look into it. And blocking flash might answer my questions to @Rick Baggenstoss

Mute button is always an option, but why should PRO members have to deal with that kind of advertising.

Usually, sites try to get you to subscribe in order to not see the advertising!

If the Contracrtor has knowledge of "EVERYTHING" that needs to be done then why worry about price inflation? Don't nickle and dime the Contractor but by no means don't get taken advantage of. Remeber the old saying "you get what you pay for".  If it needs to be corrected then you're going to have to pay someone to do it if you don't do it yourself.

Now to keep your Contractors bidding apples to apples create that Scope Of Work (SOW). Make sure to include those items that must be completed in order to achieve your ends. You could ask for alternate bid items for those repairs you would like to see completed if there's room in the budget.

Good luck!
