I have joined a couple of meetup groups, one being the Southside Investors, but the first meetings aren't for a couple of weeks. In the meantime I'm still trying to find some people to talk to. I'm in STC and chesterfield. Interested in wholesaling, flipping and possibly buy and hold eventually. Wondering if I should get a real estate license? Any advice?

Thanks! I love BP so far and I've found some local REI groups on Meetup, haven't gotten to any meetups yet but I hope to go to one next week! I am so hungry for information I figured I'd look to any opportunity I could find to learn.

Hi Jacob, have you had any luck? I'm also in St. Charles County and looking to get into Wholesaling. I'm a marketer/graphic designer and eventually want to flip and stage. I love staging so if you need any help, I'm willing!

I see that Tarek and Christina's seminar is coming to my town. I know they aren't there, I know it's just a way to get you to buy a $2k course and then even pricier courses...I have no intention of buying anything. My question is, are these things worth going to for networking purposes? Are there vendor booths set up? Will I meet professionals from banks and real estate agencies, or is it literally a room that you're locked in for an hour?

Thank you Thomas, I appreciate the response! I do have a real estate agent I plan on contacting, I've worked with her in the past. My hope is that she's investor friendly!

Hello! I am a marketing director/graphic designer who has always loved interior design. I staged my own condo last year to sell and also started fixing up my current home with my new hubby, an engineer who is *quite* handy. Suddenly I knew...these are the things I want to do. Initially I thought about just home staging, then I thought flipping would be a better investment, but the more I read here, the more I believe starting off in wholesaling may be for me. Hubby, who is an estimator in the construction industry, knows all the things about estimating repairs that I don't know, and I know marketing. But he's not a big risk taker, so I need to ease in. Because I know marketing and my town, and he can help with repair values, does wholesaling sound like a good fit to start? I would like to flip and stage eventually as well, but I'd like to get to a point where those are our full time jobs.  Thank you for all the advice you all offer! I can't wait to share my own experiences and words of wisdom someday!

I absolutely love to stage, I've done it my whole life in my own homes sort of unknowingly. Last summer I put a condo up for sale in a middle class area. It was recently renovated but was "open concept" and utterly empty. I knew I needed to stage, I knew it, but I was busy! (Ha, ha!) My realtor told me I needed to and I kicked into high gear. I used stuff from storage, bought a few things off a clearance rack at stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, put a bright red table in the kitchen with place settings (all bought from Goodwill) and staged the bathrooms similarly. She told me, afterwards, that because my condo was in such a strange building, she had initially thought she would never do an open house, but she did 2, and I got a full price offer in a building that had tons of units for sale! At that point I realized...this was fun and I'm good at it! I joined this site shortly after!
