@Steven Hamilton II, I would assume using a HELOC on your personal property to finance a flip isn't deductible for the interest in that case; with the new tax laws?

Thank you!

My wife and I are looking at flipping and notes. We've funded a few flips to build capital and are currently in the process of learning note investing. We're more interested in the overall cash flow, though, obviously the tax-advantages of owning actually properties are very attractive. Perhaps we will add that to the mix down the line.

Art. I absolutely love art. There is a significant learning curve and it can take a decent amount of money to get into collecting. It's also not the most liquid investment. But that's why I also invest in other assets. Art is just the one I love the most.

Hi Cody,

Welcome to BP! You'll find lots of great resources here and a few other folks from the Tri-Cities and Western Burbs.

Regards,

Richard

Hi Mike,

I don't have a GC to recommend. But I do have a plumber if you need to piece together a team. My wife and I have used Old World Plumbing several times for projects on our own house (we're in Batavia also). They are actually part of a group of plumbing companies.

Hope that helps a little.

Rich

@Matt R. That is good to hear the city is realizing the issue with banking and is pursuing a solution. It will be interesting to see how it plays out regarding depository protection. I wonder if the state insurers or FDIC will certify and protect the deposits of those who bank there. It is a complicated matter which of course would benefit from national decriminalization/legalization. Haha, everyone call your legislators!
