Hi Yoochul Chong I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately. I wondered the same thing as you, why aren't there more clear cut stories of when the LLC saved the day? I see that in your profession you set up LLC's and corporations. Have you heard any stories from those investors being protected against a claim?

Wow, @Michael Noto. That's awesome that you were able to pick up a property so cheap in CT, especially on the MLS. Now, find one for me ;)

I know the feeling. REI is super exciting and this site helps amp that up. Harness that passion and makes some moolah!

If learning about real estate is what you're after, you're certainly in the right place.  I found that the podcasts and blog posts were a great place for me to start.  The forums were a little bit overwhelming until I truly understood the basics.

I'm looking to network with a couple really solid agents that work in Northern CT and Western MA.  I'm looking to pick up a multi-family before the end of the year and hopefully a couple more in the early part of next year.  Does anyone have an agent that they feel really good about working with in either or both areas?

@Steven Wertheim This is a topic that I've thought a lot about lately. Before I got into REI or even started learning about it, I was very debt-averse. We put a lot of money down into both of our house purchases, paid off our cars ASAP, etc. I'm trying to retrain my way of thinking as much as possible because in this business if you don't leverage you are completely stunting your growth.

I second @Ellie Hanson's note about the expense of an agent.  Otherwise, great tweaks!
