@Michael Plante my concern with this is that your tenant doesn't have any business insurance to do the work they will be doing, so if they get injured doing the job, or someone gets injured because the work they didn't wasn't up to par it falls back on you.

Meaning, if I don't buy insurance and I get injured, I will owe the hospital out of my own pocket, AND I will owe the government.Maybe this is selfish, but where is the benefit to (uninsured middle class citizen) here?

In fact, for one of my rentals, I found it cheaper to pay for the preventive removal of a sketchy tree on my neighbor’s property rather than wait for the tree to fall on my house (and risk the tenants getting injured).
