My local area in Texas will also let owners do direct disposal at the city dump. They have a sorting station where you can drop specific items such as electronics, paint, oil, mattresses, and tires.

@NaTarrio Jones that is good to know! It's great that AirBNB collects directly and it doesn't affect your bottom line. I have a feeling most cities will go that direction if they haven't already.

We have area specific forums that would be a great place to find meetups or other investors in your area.

What is the entry price point? I've been looking at a few areas, but I'm really starting my research point of what areas look good and what the STR laws are.

Hello @Shai Flax and welcome to the area! We have some great meetups that you can search for as well as this DFW area page. Depending on where you end up, there are often separate forums for Ft. Worth and Dallas. The metroplex is pretty broad, so we tend to divide ourselves that way. Have you decided on a specific area to live or invest?

@Ian Jimeno I think that's great that you have a successful partnership with a family member. It's also wise of both of you to sit with an attorney and work through the scenarios ahead of time, despite knowing each other so well. That will definitely be money well spent for anyone to help separate business from family. Great thoughts!

@James French the good thing about building a partnership is that you can agree on any terms you want. You may want to go 50/50 at the cash out and all rental profits, or you may want to do it based on the percentage of money from the total you put into the deal at the onset, then 50/50 on rental profits. It's truly whatever you and the partner agree to.
