Thanks George, I tend to agree. Anyone have an opinion about granite vs quartz composite?

For years most rehabbers in the District of Columbia have used the standard granite countertops in kitchens and baths, usually with a granite backsplash, in one of about 4 basic color groups.

In the last 6 months however the mosaic backsplash with a quartz composite countertop trend has swept in and taken over everywhere around town.

The issue I'm finding is that there are so many color and design options with the mosaic backsplashes that they can be headache-inducing after about 5 minutes if they're not done well.

What are other rehabbers, especially the east-coast folks, finding? Are buyers looking for mosaic backsplashes or are they getting turned off by them? What's selling best?

Thanks for your input.

Either of the web addresses without dashes.

BUT - it's not an either-or thing. Whichever one the user types in, they can both resolve to the same site. Or to a 3rd site that's named something completely different. So pick the one that you think is better for your marketing but know that you've got them both (and maybe others) in the Big Net.

I think the logo with the green box is snappier and more memorable. With both scrolled off the top of the page for the last 90 seconds where I can't see them, I don't remember what the non-green logo looks like.

Hi Craig,

I've used live answering services and also a virtual assistant, and the VA wins hands-down. She is also incredibly affordable, since she charges only by the minute. In fact most of the folks I work with regularly use VAs rather than services. VAs can also help you with other tasks if you like, which a live answering service can't do.

Do a query for VA services and I'm sure you'll find many available, some may even be local.

Post: Preforeclosure Leads - Equity vs. No Equity?

Hi all,

I'm getting ready to do a mailing to preforeclosures in my area.

Is there a difference in response and quality of lead between those with equity and those without equity or upside down ? These would be primarily for wholesale deals.

I have attorneys and short sale negotiators available so the complexity of the deal is not a big issue for me.

HousesWanted is registered but is currently just a parking lot and is being offered for sale. Are they asking too much?

Agree with the #3'ers. Definitely no hyphen, and end with .com.

Michael, did we ever get your third and better option? Inquiring minds want to know! :-)

That's a tough question Cheryl and one I'm asking myself as well. We are in the same market - I'm closing on a place in SE before the end of the month, where is yours? I was going to ask my realtor who lists the rehabs what his thoughts are on timing.

On the other hand, are you sure your rehab will only take a month? I'm figuring work started in December will wrap up in mid-February or maybe even later, given holiday and snow delays. Would it make sense to stretch out the rehab timeline a bit rather than have the house sit empty, either in its unrenovated or renovated condition?

Personally I'm more interested in a member's profile than in their picture. I think those who don't complete their profiles and give credible information about their business should be prevented from participating after a certain grace period.
