I am making an offer on a SFH in my area. The asking is $229,000.

What is the best way to determine if a city has a rental market? Every area will but not knowing the market makes it tough to buy SFH or even MFH.

I am interested in out of state investing and found an article online by BRIC Investments. They recommended buying in Englewood, FL.

I used Craigslist to find out the rents and type of properties out there.

Just an update. I had a friend drive down on a Friday night. She was scared and nervous on the street. The exterior looked ok but there is a drug house across the fourplex. She felt it was a very idea to invest there. Hope this helps.

Congratulations and thanks for updating us. I have been on the sidelines for a while now and would love to pull the trigger on a duplex or triplex near me as well. 

Any advice on finding something (MFH) not on the MLS?
