Hi BP Community,

I am trying to decide where to invest in for buy and hold rentals for SFH or MFH. I was looking for a market with low property taxes. I live in California but have some experience investing out of state.

Anyone who knows the two markets please share your experience.

Thank you,

Amir

I owe- $161,000

Asking price-$230,000

Renovations- $10,000

Hello BP Community,

We found a house near our primary home for sale. It's a SFH 3/1.5, 1100 sqft. It was previously rented for $1200 but with some minor upgrades it can be rented for $1500. How can I get $50,000 for the down payment? My primary is worth $275,000. I have never refinanced or got a line of credit on the home.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Amir

@James Wise

I just paid off my Parma investment home last December. The property tax rate in Parma is 3.3%. I just think after trying for a over year to get a deal and failing to do so. We decided to look into other markets with lower property tax rates. I'm sure it will be challenging other places but it's worth a shot.

I am currently enrolled into a masters program online through LSU. I noticed they (Louisiana) have much lower taxes then Ohio.

Hello BP Community,

I have decided to look into another market. I was in the Cleveland market for over 1 1/2 but the property taxes made me think of getting out.

I am looking for SFH or MFH buy and hold rentals. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on markets that they are actively investing in with low property taxes? I was thinking of Louisiana because of low tax rate.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have some REI experience. I am interested in LA because of the lower property tax rates. Does anyone have any places they recommend in Lafayette for buy and old rentals? Please see the example below.

203 Dorchester St, Lafayette, LA 70506

Thanks,

Amir
