Uh....I am unsure if that is a yes or no question. LOL :)

I'm trying to be positive.  No I have not bought the house. I just submitted an application to buy from the state on Tuesday.  I also started begging for money that Monday and someone said that if I could not come up with the cash they would offer to help me,  as the cost of the house exceeds what I have in my pocket at the moment.  That would happen if they send me a quote in under 4 months.

Thanks @Toxey McDavid.  I went ahead and submitted and application to purchase from the state on the house I saw (+ a few others).  I'm curious to know how long it takes for the state to contact you with a quote.  I asked that question yesterday and one guy said the earliest he ever got one was 4 weeks and some can even go past a year.

Right now I'm trying to find/google/read about the procedure required to quiet the title pro se after the redemption period has ended..

Hello!  My name is Asia and I'm from Bham, AL.

I came upon this site a few days ago after googling about Alabama property tax sales. I was bored and just riding around town one evening and saw an abandoned house in the middle of a nice neighborhood (boarded up, grass overgrown, residue from flames, garbage, busted window, etc.).

I went home and was angered that such a big house was going to waste. Did some further googling and found out that the property was up for tax sale and google lead me to some Alabama threads on this site.

I've looked into it in the past but ever did much research into it. I've been doing a lot of reading on these boards and am eager to learn more.

Car lots can get anyone financed.

I agree with what you are saying but that applies to certain neighborhoods.  If you want to rent out a property in Forest Park you would spend more on cosmetics than you would Kingston.

Wow......

Well as long as I can keep the birds and hobos out I can live with that.

And in Birmingham you don't have to spend as much on the "cosmetics" of the property.  Folks will accept anything.
