Financial Goals
- Bulk savings up more after using some on personal home renovations via continuing to reimburse myself with house-hacking income.
- Ensure my budget is still up-to-date after some up-coming financial changes.
- Continue to pay extra towards principle on primary house. Only about 8 years left of a mortgage we started in 2009!
Personal Goals
- Work towards furthering my SCUBA certifications such as Public Saftey Diver and begin Technical Diving and Cave Diving training.
- Try to control the amount of planned travel for 2021 since I already have several trips set for 2020.
- But when I do plan travel, begin traveling to further-away locations such as Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and similar options.
- Read more books...well, Audibles. :-)
- Push harder to relocate full-time to Florida. First step of that was completed by renovating my personal home so it's ready to become a rental.
Wow this is incredible, it’s going to be a great year! Talk about having a clear vision of what you want to do for the year! With respect to your property manager, have you come up with the reports you’d like them to have for you?
I’ve come to believe that house hacking is the 8th wonder of the world. Keep on with that principal pay down that’s awesome in 10 years!
Being in the middle of Indiana I must admit I have never thought to get a SCUBA certification, that’s certainly unique lol. As far as traveling for this year, is there a destination you’re looking forward to the most?

First and foremost you’ve got a good point, I feel like many of us take waking up the next day for granted.
Sounds to me like you’ve already got your plans in place for the year. I haven’t taken the time to look into new builds so I’ll definitely be following to see if I can’t learn something new

This are great goals Nicole! I was going to say when you planned on starting the meetup but then saw it’s already set! Any ideas on what the blog would be about?

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has had a great holiday season up to this point and continue to do so up through the new year. As I sit here and reflect about accomplishments, people I’ve met, and all things that have happened in the past year I can honestly say I never would have imagined I’d be where I am now. Of everyone I have connected with one common denominator of their success has been the importance of having and writing down clear goals and having a clear vision of the future you want to have. Something that helped me tremendously was the BP Intention Journal. I’ve always written goals down however it wasn’t until this journal that I started being intentional about daily tasks and goals to make sure I’m being productive as opposed to simply busy
This year I’ve come up with two separate lists of goals for the year, one of which being personal goals and the other being real estate/ business goals. With that being said I want to list a few of my real estate goals for 2020:
1.) Purchase a duplex or a SFH we can convert into 2 units here in Fort Wayne, IN to househack for the next year or two. My future fiancé (she doesn't know when I'll be proposing this spring :) ) and I have sat down and come up with our goals for the year and decided this would be a great way to lower our expenses as we save up some more capital for both of our business endeavors.
2.) Read atleast 30 books. I hadn’t thought to read more this year until October of this year and was able to get through 12 so I figured why not aim for one a week? A quote I admire is “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
3.) Help Syndicate/ Raise capital for 3 deals with partners. This coincides with a goal I have listed below with respect to building relationships with private lenders and passive investors.
4.) Build relationships with atleast 5 Private lenders/ passive investors. I will continue to strive to build meaningful relationships with other investors. I look forward to connecting with other like-minded individuals over the course of the next year and if possible helping one another get one step closer to our goals.
5.) Help 10 people reach one of their goals this year whether it be a personal goal, financial goal, or real estate goal. I believe having someone to help hold you accountable to your goals is incredible and can inspire you both. Any chance I can help add purposeful value to others, I gladly will and look forward to it!
This past year has been entertaining and full of surprises and continued clarity. I’m excited to start the new year off and get the ball rolling early in the new decade! What are some of your goals for the next year whether it be growing your current portfolio, transitioning from SF to MF, or learning how to make your business more efficient?
I’m interested to hear some of your goals as well! @Yonah Weiss @John Casmon @Michael Ealy @Michinori Kaneko @Felipe Mejia @Danny Randazzo @Chris Salerno @Ben Grotzke @Abel Curiel
Thank you for tagging me!
I am finalizing my goals today. I am very excited to help you achieve your 2020 goals!! I know you will be able to achieve them. Looking forward to a great 2020!
No problem! I look forward to seeing you succeed and I too am excited to help achieve your goals as well! It’s going to be a great one!

I appreciate the mention @Yonah Weiss and for taking the time to both verify and confirm for everyone here on BP. The more minds we have on BP, the better for everyone involved! If i remember right, this was an ongoing question for quite some time.
@Grant Cardone I look forward to hearing your perspective on real estate investing as well as the other contributions you will make to the community.

@K.C. Corey hey how's it going? I'll be the first to tell you that I don't have extensive knowledge on wholesaling however I know of some people here in Fort Wayne that do. There's a Facebook group called Fort Wayne REIA that's been a huge help to me as far as learning and networking. I'd say for sure check it out and post this there also. Some locals may be able to help out as well. Best of luck!

@Adam Steinberger The answers here covered everything I would say. As Taylor said, there's a few more rules and isn't anywhere near as liquid as a REIT but like Ronan mentioned it's passive enough and gives you the benefits of owning a physical property.
