In general, I would do as much research, books, audiobooks and podcasts, and free / inexpensive events before starting to think about writing big checks for education. By the time you get to that point, you may already be on your path!
I'm all for spending money on the 'right' education -- but I don't think you should start there.

I've used this person before. He was great, and reasonably priced. Good luck!

Welcome to BP!
Here's a list of books I put together. You can learn a ton for free, before getting into seminars, etc.

Welcome to BP!
Memphis is a great cash flow market, but be very careful what neighborhoods you are buying. That's great you have family on the ground their. Good luck!

I own property in Memphis, and it seems like an ok deal.
I have a few contacts in that market, if you would like another set of eyes on it.
PM if you are interested. Thanks.

Welcome to BP!
Are you finding good cash flow deals in Chicago?
From what I understand the laws are favored towards tenants, which can present issues as a buy/hold investor.
Good luck!

I own a lot of property in Dallas and Memphis. Both good cash flow markets, but the deals were getting harder to find. I've spent the last 3 years buying in Atlanta, and love the market! I would be happy to share resources with you.
