@Johnathan Sawyer welcome to BP.  I'm in Columbia and wish I had this platform and your mentality at 19!

I bought my first rental right after college at USC. You asked about a mentor, but I would suggest you continue learning from BP and join a local meet up group. I know that REI Central is a great group with lots of big time investors. I think you will find it easier to meet some one that you connect with when you go to the meet ups. Then offer to help so you can learn along the way.

A tip that I give people; is to reach out to the leader of the meet up group and ask them if they need help. I know that I can always use an extra pair of hands when setting up our meet up each month. Hope that helps you get connected and starting on this awesome journey of REI.

have you tried Synovus?  They seem to like these for me.

Also, do you have a w-2 job?  That always makes it easier.  You may have to go through a few banks if you don't.

Welcome to Columbia! I'm very bullish on real estate in this town. We have a lot of demand generators that help the rental and flip markets stay strong. BP is a great resource to find realtors but you should also check out the Meet up groups. I run REI Live Columbia that has our next meet up on the 17th. Check out the others in the area to get connected fast.
