Hi Wayne,
We are an on-the-ground source in Columbus and have worked with several BP investors who are from out of town. Just gave a presentation to an investor group the other night and answered some of your questions. Feel free to message me if you'd like to talk!

Yes, Dan. From what I understand from a conference this past weekend, you go to the HUD homes website, HUDhomestore.com, and choose "Investor" from the dropdown list and you can put in your bid. The investor who gave the talk said that a computer reads the offers and accepts or rejects them, so don't get frustrated if yours is because you can re-bid tomorrow. She said she made a bid every day for eleven days once on the same property before her bid was accepted. She stressed how important it is to know how the bidding process works when you're dealing with HUD homes. I hope this helps you and good luck!

We've been doing a lot of "boots on the ground" work for CA and other investors this past summer and now into fall. Happy to talk to those who have questions.

I agree with
@Joshua Springer. This is a link to our "Why Columbus?" tab on our website that touts the benefits of investing in Ohio, with numbers based on research. http://panzerarealty.com/why-columbus/. And cash flow is always a function of not just the economies of the city, but how savvy an investor is and how well they run their numbers. We're proud of Columbus for its investment potential and work with many investors who are doing it successfully here.

Welcome,
There's a lot to learn here on BP, and it's a great way to meet like-minded people. I run a property management company here in Columbus and we have properties in most areas around 270. If you'd like to email me I'm happy to talk with you about investing in Columbus neighborhoods.
Best,
David Panzera
