Thank you for the well thought out and insightful response!!! Great advice!
THANK you for the good input.:)
I understand its crucial...but this firm would not allow me to work with sellers.....do open houses.....nor create listings..I just don't know if that is the norm.I understand the prospecting part and its importance.
Hi all!! I am a brand new agent and long time teacher.I am in the process of finding a firm that is the right fit and making it full time.
Question: IS it the norm for new agents to start as buyers agents? Is it an unspoken requirement?
** I am willing to do it of course but prospecting in the phone for buyers 6 hrs a day is not what I envisioned..The one firm ( team) wanta me to handlebonly the buyer side while one person deals with negotiations/ listings and one handles the contract.
Please help a newbie out.:)))

Yes..thank you.You are right..My plan was to finish the school year.
I would think being a full time teacher is rewarding, no? Also took a 4yr degree, a lot of expense and licensing to obtain?
It is super super difficult to qualify for loans without a job. Having a license to sell RE is nice if you want to do that full time or purchase more than about 4 places a year, but the course work and training you just went through have very little to do with actual investing.
I would finish out the school year and dabble in RE before actually quitting teaching mid-year @Account Closed You can always decide to quit over the summer. My $.02

yes ..I hear you all..I just am not happy after 13 years of teaching...if anything Is rather get a part time job...start traditional real estate and then invest.Continuing teaching is no longer an option for my happiness.

Why?? Because, I want a career and I wanted the knowledge. I also thought it would be more "safe" to invest and never be accused of brokering without a license.

Hi Everyone! So, I am a full time teacher and in the last year got very interested in real estate. I LOVE the idea of investing and even tried the wholesaling for a bit. However, I felt I needed more knowledge and credibility. I now have passed and am awaiting my confirmation via mail any day now.
I want to quit teaching and start full time with Real Estate ( in the next few months). I need some practical How To knowledge on getting started. Any and all advice welcome and appreciated!!
