@Nicholas Furtado due to the current restrictions in place in MA I do not believe there are any in person taking place currently. @Jonathan Bombaci will resume his once he is able to and it is in Salem. He also has one in Lowell and Burlington. For now they are virtual and he can send you the link to it I'm sure.

@Chris Mendoza an alternative market to Portland is the Biddeford/Saco area. It has seen a lot of revitalization recently and isn’t as high price wise as Portland and still has plenty of upside.

@Nicholas Pelletier heat, hw, electric, water and sewer are the utilities found on the property disclosure forms. Most commonly water and sewer are paid by the owner and the other three by the tenants. But in theory there could be any combination of who pays what.

More than likely you wouldn't get much of any ROI by adding square footage due to the costs associated with it but if you can find a way to add a bedroom or bathroom to the existing footprint you are more likely to get a better ROI

@Brennan Doherty I agree with @Steven Correale, house hacking is a great way to get started, especially at your age! @Jonathan Bombaci has an in-person meet up there in Lowell and will resume whenever we no longer have to socially distance ourselves. He is an investor and agent and got his start house hacking.
@Courtney Avila an investment is only as good as the numbers and it all starts with buying right. Thinking about a SFR, what is your plan to make it an investment? Going to rent out rooms? Going to live there for a year then rent it and move on to the next? BRRRR?
@Jason Regan @Jonathan Bombaci is a fellow agent/investor and hosts a few in-person meet-ups when they are allowed. He’s provided more value to me than I could ever have imagined. He also does a lot of deals in Leominster/Fitchburg area.
