I've noted a vacant motel property that's been vacant for more than a year.  I'm wondering where to start as far as determining if it would even be worthwhile as a wholesale deal. I have a feeling it's going to be torn down soon and want to find out if it may be a worthwhile investment. Where do I begin??

@Robbie Knecht...once again not sure about WI but in my county in IL I know you can search online by the filing date.  http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2014/10/10/5-compelling-reasons-to-invest-in-real-estate-probates/...may help you a bit in giving a little insight. 

@Ken Morrison...when I've run comps I have seen that spread and when I check out the listing, it's usually a rehab that's on the higher end. If you don't have access already, you can shoot me a PM and I look up comps on the MLS and get an idea if there are rehabs that are drawing the numbers up in the $100K territory.
