@Wade Chilcoat

You can find the group on Meetup.com

I hope you are able to make it, and enjoy the meeting.

@Daniel Ryu it is crazy to think how things changed from 3 of us sitting in a coffee shop. Throwing the idea out there, hey let's put this on Meetup. Maybe we could 3 whole more people to come and make our group an outstanding group of 6 people. Which is even more hilarious considering how far the group has come along. How we undersold the idea and thought not many people in Korea would be interested in learning about REI.

Without Bigger Pockets I would have never found the courage to start investing from South Korea.

I found my first and second deal on Facebook.

I bought a house that had a fire
I bought the house and extra lot next to it for $5K.

Sold them both on contract to 2 different people

I sold the lot for $4K.

I sold the house for $12K.

I got the house back, ended up selling it for $4,000.

Not as much profit as I hoped.

Second deal was a mobile home that I bought for $4,000 and sold for $5,000.

Both of these I bought after finding them for sale on my hometown local items for sale facebook page

The third deal I bought was a townhouse in my university town, that I bought from one friend. Which we rent to our friends for $750, who have been amazing tenants. We rolled $5K of his equity into our partnership.

I have an LLC with 5 others. Where I hold 50% of the company, and they each own 10%.

Three of those partners I met in Korea.

I just put a 2 Bed 1 Bath house under contract for $42K, conservative ARV $60K.

This home has been owned by the same couple since 1955. The home is in great condition. I only have minor repairs to make.

I already have a tenant lined up to move in.

I know without Bigger Pockets, I would be lacking a lot of knowledge. Bigger Pockets also inspired me to grow my assets and expand within the realm of real estate. I never knew about investing in Notes, or lending private money.

Because Bigger Pockets has added so much value to my life, I became a Pro member 2 years ago, and I am happy I did.

@Corey Kuhns

I live in Decatur

There is a lot of information here on BP.  When you start to feel bogged down.

It is time to change gears.

Talk to someone, read a different post.

Listen to a podcast.

What do you currently have the price at?

Have you had many people look at it?

Has it been under contract?

Personally, I would like to learn more about this.

Feel free to pm me

@Sei-Jung Park

No I am no longer in Korea.

I moved back to America.
I am always happy to hear that new Seoul REI members have joined BP.

It's just amazing to me that the @Daniel Ryu @Ben and myself meeting in a coffee shop. Then the random idea of throwing this on meetup turned into something so big and great.

It makes me so happy that things have continued and grew.

@Sean Walker that is a mess

I am sorry to hear that

I recommend refinancing with a different lender, if you can't get an extension with seller to look for a different lender now.

I have moved on from my bank I have had for 15 years because they became very difficult to work with recently. I felt my business was no longer wanted or appreciated.

When I was living in Korea they kept coming up with new things I needed to do for a mortgage. Then eventually rejected me because I was out of the country.

Are you a member of the Seoul REI group on Meetup?
Maybe @Daniel Ryu or Jean Luc could be able to help.

@Michael Beeman
While I still believe in the area. It is difficult time to invest in Charleston.
The market is depressed, because of the budget issues.

I plan to buy more properties in more stable areas.

While keeping my eyes on the area.

Feel free to PM me and maybe we can meet up.
