“PIG Tank” – Expert Investor Panel Q&A

At this month’s PIG meeting, we have a very special treat for you, as some of our most successful and knowledgeable members will be fielding YOUR real estate questions, and even advising some of you on your business plans. There are no sharks in this tank, only PIGS…with lots of valuable information to help take you and your investing business to the NEXT LEVEL!

Each member of our panel is an expert in their different specialty within the real estate industry. They will be sharing their specialized knowledge and trade secrets with you to make sure your business is primed and ready to explode in 2017! Our special real estate expert panel members include:

Bill Allen – Wholesale/Marketing Expert – Bill is an active duty Navy pilot who fell into real estate investing thanks to constant military moves. He started in real estate as an accidental landlord in 2007 when he went on deployment & rented his condo in San Diego. He continued buying rentals & quickly realized he was running out of money, so he started flipping houses to generate additional investment capital.

Bill started Blackjack Real Estate in 2015 & enjoyed flipping houses so much that he’s continued to use that strategy for the last three years. In 2016, he committed to a large marketing plan & as a result successfully flipped 13 houses & wholesaled 54 more, with plans to double those numbers in 2017 with help from effective business systems.

Joey Vincent – General Contractor & Rehab Expert – Joey is the owner of Joseph Vincent Construction, LLC, specializing in new residential construction & remodels. He is also a Franchise owner of HomeVestors ("We Buy Ugly Houses") & has been a real estate investor since 2003, making it a full time career in 2007. Joey graduated with a Bachelors degree from Troy University & his company averages approximately 16 flips per year & currently owns & manages 44 rental homes. His passion is transforming Ugly homes into Dream homes & spending time with his 3 children.

Tom Waier – Business Development – Tom began his career as a CPA for Ernst & Ernst, but quickly moved up the ranks as a successful corporate executive. In the late 70’s and early 80’s, he worked as vice president of Maxco Inc, a publically-held diversified manufacturing company. After a successful run at Maxco, Tom was recruited to hold the position of CEO at Airlift Company, a manufacturer of automotive air suspensions. Tom held that position for 20 years before his “retirement” in 2007, overseeing massive growth and expansion at the company.

However, running a multi-million dollar company didn't prevent Tom from testing his real estate acumen. He was the co-owner of Brook Development LLC, which developed six single family subdivisions in Michigan, ranging from 18 to 113 lots. He was also the co-owner of Loch Woode Development, which built new construction homes. Today, he is the busiest "retiree" in America at age 74, running his renovation company, "Nonsuch Investments LLC", which specializes in flipping houses and real estate development in the Greater Pensacola area.

I hate to play "one up you" @William Allen, but I'm going to in this case because I have a classic story.   I ran into Roy Jones, Jr. at Chuck E. Cheese while he was at a friend's birthday party.  I was playing the football game where you throw it into the different sized holes, and he comes up and just starts talking smack out of nowhere.  I don't really get star struck, so I challenged him to a game.  So, we go head to head, and I absolutely smoked him.  Probably the only thing I could beat him at.  Well, that and paying my taxes.  I'm current...and he owes about 3 million or so.  Unfortunately those cheesy Island Fights at the Civic Center don't pay 7-8 figures like in the old days.  See you at the PIG meeting, bud!

Henry Ford is famously noted as saying “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.” But this isn’t a concept that just revealed itself around the time of motorized cars and assembly lines. There’s also a proverb from thousands of years ago that echoes Mr. Ford’s sentiments. It reads, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

While some people like to chalk concepts like this up to “mind-over-matter-mumbo-jumbo,” it’s clear that those who succeed in life and business have learned to think differently about situations, events, challenges, and failures in their lives. Best-selling books like Think & Grow Rich, The Millionaire Next Door, & Secrets of the Millionaire Mind have outlined these dramatic differences between the “haves” and “have-nots”…or, as I like to refer to them, “Millionaires and Nillionaires.” (You do know how much “Nil” is, right?)

At this month’s meeting of the Professional Investors Guild, we will be examining these differences, and learning some practical steps you can take to make 2017 your best year yet! It’s an undeniable FACT that the real estate that most determines your success over any other is the patch of land between your ears. So, let’s make sure we make an INVESTMENT IN IT!

“Due Diligence (The Most Important Thing), Part 2”

There’s an old real estate axiom that says, “you make your money when you buy, you just realize it when you sell.” However, it can also be said that you make (or save) money when you DON’T buy…yet you oftentimes don’t realize THAT until you end up in an unprofitable deal you live to regret.

The key to a long, fruitful career in real estate investing is not just about the properties that you buy, but about the properties you don’t buy. If you follow-up every $30,000 profit “home run” deal, with a $30,000 “money pit” loss, you won’t be around long enough to build any real wealth or lasting success.

At this month’s PIG meeting, you will hear part 2 of the series entitled, “the most important thing,” something commonly referred to in the real estate world as due diligence.
