I believe this is the only one as well.  At this time, I am only sticking with the State List.

@Kristian James I never found an answer...however I am traveling to Birmingham this weekend to record some Deeds I have obtained on Monday. My thinking is that I'll keep working with the list at the State level. It's easy to obtain. Many counties are also going to the new Auction System.

Got a Tax Deed for a house in Jefferson County, Alabama!  Here are some questions that I need help with:

  • What is the process for filing the Deed with the County?  Did I read somewhere that it costs like $5?  Do I have to do it in person (I live out-of-state).
  • When I got the Tax Deed there was a statement that I "needed to have the property Assessed as soon as possible."  What is that process? Is it necessary?

Got a quote from Alabama D of R for a house in Birmingham that has been delinquent on Taxes in 2015. Quote is for a Tax Deed!

The homeowner (older lady) still lives in the home and purchased the home in 2006. Not sure if there is still a mortgage on the home or not. A friend drove by and took some pics of the outside and it looks in pretty good condition.

I'm very interested in this house, but I'm more interested in working with the owner than putting her out.

Now for the questions:

1. If there is an existing mortgage...will I be responsible for it?

2. Suggestions for monetization?

@Ebony King

You're saying email the Alabama Department of Revenue Tax Delinquency Office with the CS number in the subject line? Sounds good! I'll give it a try! Thank you!

Found a property in a nice area of Bessemer that was sold to the State in 2014. I requested a quote from D of R in February but have yet to receive a quote. The listed owner is a Realty group that no longer exists. Should I try to call the State or submit for a quote again? I don't want to give up on this one...

Suggestions?
