One of my guys hit up the local window/glass shops and they do carry some bead in stock and can order others. There really isn't a standard classification from what we were told. You just look at the old bead and try to find one that looks similar. They actually had a big ring with tons of short pieces of bead examples.

I've got a rehab with either aluminum or metal windows that look to be about 20 years old. The snap bead that surrounds and helps seal the perimeter of the window is brittle, faded and unsightly. Home Depot has snap bead but it is smaller than what I need.

Any tips on where to find this bead? Any solutions for using the bead at home depot with some modification? How are these beads measured and classified? I can't find any branding on the windows.

I'm going to try some local glass and window shops but thought I would check here first.

Welcome Brandon Pack. I spent about a week in Paintsville working down in the CSX Rail Yard a few years ago. I agree that Lexington would be a much better area to invest.

Good Luck and keep us updated on your new venture.

Randy is absolutely right. Hardi-board laid in a bed of thin-set is the way to go. I used this method on a bathroom floor a while back and it is SOLID.

I used .5" hardi laid in a thick bed of thin-set, screwed with the Hardi screws and then laid travertine tile over this. Most people can't tell that it's not concrete foundation.

There is a big difference between hardi laid over wood and hardi laid in thin-set.

You will reduce your potential tenant pool down to people who only need one bathroom. Most renters with kids or roommate situations will probably pass. How much are the other similar homes renting for?

I'm confused.

From your website:
"in one of Bonita Bay's finest neighborhoods!"
"beautiful home"
"perfect setting"
"home offers spacious"

If these lines kill deals and or decrease profits, why do you use them?

Jon Klaus, how is the new adventure coming along? Are you going to keep this thread going?

You're right Corey, this is a shame on all levels. Political persuasions aside, this was pure greed, both conservatives and liberals should be fuming.

Wasn't the HAMP an Obama program? By their actions, BoA was unfair to distressed homeowners and to the authors of the Home Affordable Modification Program. How can any government program be successful if the people who are supposed to execute it, don't?

I'm actually enjoying this thread and wish that more people would be willing to step up and do this. Keep up the good work J. Will be following until the end; can't wait to see the finished product and final numbers.
