Curious on people’s strategies on what to do with about $30k a year in disposable income to set yourself up to have a nice retirement.Most jobs don’t offer very attractive savings plans or pensions anymore.

Let's call it what it is, an albatross that should be disposed of in this and future discussion....and then we can all move forward.  

If/when the market turns, credit markets will tighten, people from high-earning, high appreciation areas will have less disposable income burning a whole in their pocket causing them to want to invest in low cost/high risk places like the rust belt.

The other issue I had was the impact this would have when I disposed of the home... small chance that an agent/buyer may recognize the home from a porn shoot and didn't want to have to explain that. 

Thus we should expect engineers to have disposable cash to make real estate investments. 

You sort of answered your own question, it's all about the team and 'boots on the ground' in that area you have at your disposal. 

I prefer to have an abundance because then I can use the wealth at my disposal to serve others.....and it would be fun to install a keg-o-rator in my bar.I'm 44.
