There are pockets in Jacksonville that work. The Air Force base is there too.

OOS title company sent a mobile notary to me. We met at a local bar and I closed while having a cold one.

I second @Eric Martinez. It's all about how much you keep.

@Matt Moylan - Thanks for the info. I just shot you a email.
@Jeff Bridges - I got the feeling he didn't want my account to leave. I was offered to just increase my homeowner insurance by ~ $200k, which is not what I was looking to do. I will look into Integro Group.
@John Mocker - Thanks. I'm getting the feeling a independent broker is the way to go.

If your family member saw this post, would he or she be so willing to give you $50k? I would decline until you have a solid plan with a track record.

How will you pay for maintenance, property taxes, etc... It doesn't sound like you can afford it based on the information provided.

I am a out-of-state investor living in New York, but invest in Little Rock, AR. I spoke with a rep from my rental property homeowner insurance in AR (Safeco) to get a quote for a personal umbrella policy. I was told this would be difficult since I live in another state and I have no car and rent where I live. Has anyone experienced this before?

As a long-term investor absolutely not. Spectators are probably worried, though.

Put the $1k in a Roth IRA, increase earning/savings rate and keep learning.

What is your main goal for the house? Is this a investment or vacation home you do not mind losing money on? I think you need to answer that first.
On the other hand, why not just rent when you're in Grapevine part-time?
