Determine if you really want to be a Realtor. Average income and success statistics for agents are not impressive.

Most agents don't realize they are starting a business where they are the CEO and employee.

A successful business requires planning, strategy, and sales & marketing.

That being said, if you treat it like a business, learn your market & avatar client, know and constantly improve your value proposition / competitive advantage - you'll soar past the competition.

Agent & investor here.

Income and success statistics for real estate agent's is not overly impressive.

Most agents do not realize they are starting a business. They are the CEO and employee of their business.

Planning, strategy, and sales & marketing are a few vital tasks that every business needs to succeed.

Rockstar agents know (and constantly improve) their value proposition / competitive advantage, know their target market, and know their avatar client. Average agents do the same thing that the thousands of other average agents do and achieve the same average or below average results.

Finding a mentor early on to accelerate the learning curve is important. The best brokerages will require you to partner with a mentor to help you through the first few transactions.

Let me know if I can help out in any way. Our brokerage operates in OH. My team educates agents how to invest and build better businesses.

Hey chris, are you still managing your sfh? If so, do you now have a property management company that you go to? Thanks in advance Chris!

I self-manage some, but new rentals I let @Jerry Ta w/ PropertyCare manage.

Amazing story - thanks for sharing @William Allen. It's stories that this that are so important to hear when you're on the rollercoaster entrepreneur journey. Everyone's will be different. Never quit when you're 2 feet from gold!

I went to FHL in 2018. It was my first FHL and simply put - it was amazing! I typically expect events like this to be high motivation, low substance events. Not FHL! I wish it was around when I got started in REI over 10 years ago. My wife and I will be back in 2019.
