Post: Direct Mail; must it always be Yellow?!

@Thomas Fucci, i could not agree with @Justin Silverio more. Each mail piece appeals to certain people. Yellow letters absolutely have their target audience, but not everyone responds to them. That's why we promote cluster marketing so much. Commit yourself to at least six touches and use a different mail piece each time. Send a small text Postcard, Yellow Letter, Large Text Postcard, Professional Letter, Greeting Card, then ZipLetter.

Send all at once. Typically the only reason to split a mailing is to better handle the call volume, and since postcards only average about .5% response you should be fine. Also, mailing 2000 at once is cheaper.

1-3% would be a grand slam! the average for postcards is about .5%

However with that being said, "response rate" really doesn't mean anything. Its the type of lead that matters.

Hi @Angelo Lelievre

Like @Jim Viens said, give it a couple days. Some people don't check there mailbox everyday and some will hold on to the card for months before calling. Another factor is the amount of touches, the first touch typically brings in the lowest response.

Hi @Marc Oister, if this is your first time hitting this list, a low response would not be uncommon. However you should still receive some response. My guess is that your mail probably has not hit the homes yet. Standard mail typically takes 10-15 days to be delivered, however it can take anywhere from 3-30 days. Hang in there a little longer, and keep us updated.

@John Warren Those are our pre-designed templates. We have several different options for the outsides as well as templates for the inside text.
