Definitely get our there to the local meet ups and get to know people, network on here, practice analyzing properties every day, read up on real estate investing and flipping. You will become more and more familiar with the costs of things as you go along and have a better idea. As for now, lay a good fundamental understanding of real estate and practice, practice, practice then just go for it.

@Zachary H. I don't have any contacts there but it is a relatively small renovation. Nothing major would need to be done but I haven't gotten a good look at the property yet. But that is a good point if the project is not too big.

Looking to see if maybe I could rehab a property that's in a state I will be moving to in the future. I wanted to see peoples experience and if it was really worth it! Im worried about not being able to be there will create some issues.

Looking to see if anyone has done a flip on a house while living with a child? My child will be about 2 years old while this will be going on so I am looking to see what peoples thoughts will be and if anyone has done it before. My main concern is just all of the noise that will be going on and all of the possible dangers of the kid eating/ playing with dangerous objects.

Hello everyone! I will be getting out of the military in a couple of years so me and my wife will be moving to the Charleston area when the time comes and I will become a contractor. I am stationed overseas in Japan right now but we are trying to find ways to be able to get our hands on a house while we are here. I have never purchased a home before and I am still very young (21 years old) so I am not sure how it will go even with the VA loan. I would love to hear about the area and how the market is doing so I can make a smart decision, thanks for any help!

Hey everyone, I am currently 21, married and looking to get out of the military in 2019. I have never bought a home before but would really like to start investing in real estate when me and my wife move. We were looking to move to Charleston, South Carolina. And I am also a general contractor so I definitely plan on flipping homes. How should I get started with investing? Is this a good market to get into? I am looking to use the VA home loan but wasn't sure if I'll be able to get qualified. Appreciate any help from you guys!
