I do invest in that area of Huntsville because the cashflow numbers are pretty good.  Many local Huntsville investors do not go into that area mainly because some of those neighborhoods are the Huntsville equivalent to a D class neighborhood.  Mainly those south of Drake Ave as @John White mentioned.

With that if you could find a strong property manager you may be able to slowly transition those rents to a little higher but there are still 1/1 which may be difficult.

The drive from Nashville to Huntsville is ~1hr 45 mins in good traffic.  Where you want to stay depends on your preference however Huntsville is not a very touristy town.   I do have a few AirBnBs around town if you are interested.

I personally invest in 35805 and 35758.  There are also other good areas of town to invest for cashflow such as 35810 and 35816.  And for appreciation such as 35801 and other areas of South Huntsville.

Welcome to BiggerPockets.  I am an local investor here in the Huntsville area.  I would personally recommend you talk directly to property managers in the area in addition to searching on sites like Zillow as that site is not always updated by the landlords/managers.  

@Carolyn Dietrich and @Zachary C. both have property management companies in the area.

Also one thing to do is set alerts on valleymls.com (local realty site in the Tennesse Valley)  That way if something that you are interest in comes on the market it will alert you directly.

Lastly do you know of any wholesalers in the area?  The market as of late has been competitive and there aren't as many deals as there were in times past.  PM me if you need wholesalers/agents contacts
