You mentioned in your post that the OP should go into the BP State-Specific forums and ask for lender referrals. These requests are only allowed to be posted in the Marketplace Forum.

@Joseph Hanich, did you tell the HML that this is your primary residence? Many HML won't lend on a home you live in.

5% interest is not a legit rate for someone you don't know. I've never heard of him, and have no personal experience with him. However, upfront lending fees are highly unusual for legitimate lenders and very common for scammers.

Thanks for bringing this up. Right now, when you sign up for the site, you are automatically connected to me, the Community Manager. However, if you are only following me, then your dashboard feed will be filled with only MY comments. 

We started the auto-follow (and choose active members with similar interests to yours) so your feed is move diverse. 

Interesting to include an opt-out, and I'll discuss this with the developers. Right now, you can unfollow people by clicking the unfollow button next to their names, but we wanted to make it super easy for members to get more relevant content in their feeds.
