@Jason Allen

I’d just get started with a house or a multfiamily and grow from there.

Straight craziness. I’m looking into investing in other parts of real estate and not multifamilies or houses. I’m looking at office space, strip malls, or hotels in NY. Before they take that away.

800 for a bed room? I bought 34 sheets of 12x4x1/2 and it came out to 380 plus 3 buckets of mud and tape for an extra 60 dollars. That will cover at least 3 12x12 rooms...

It’s all part of the business. I think it’s a great learning experience and toughens the skin a little bit. It helped me realize how much I hate working with residential clients but I wouldn’t know that if I didn’t work with them. Thanks for the luck, I’ll need a rabbits foot and a horseshoe too.

@Dylan Paul

Last year I had a couple put in 4 accepted offers and backed out of each one a day after it was accepted. After the fourth one they dropped me saying it was my fault I couldn’t get them the perfect house.

Fast forward to last week, the guy calls me up asking to see houses. I told him I switched to commercial real estate and no longer serve residential clients. Then he kindly hung up the phone as his response.

Definitely my favorite people to work with...

I do, I like to vet my contractors. Education is one of them, I’m not expecting college educated engineers to work on my house but I do expect them to have an educational competency past high school. Even a GED is fine.

I can’t speak for you, but I don’t know a contractor who hires employees without a diploma or GED in my area.

Pt. 2: Why don’t you do BOCES and learn how to build a house? Kill two birds with one stone. There are so many alternatives, make quitting your absolute last one

I see the cons of college being a good reason not to go but dropping out of high school is a bad idea. How many contractors would you hire without a high school diploma?

@Joel Gierbolini

Try your local credit union. They tend to be more flexible with their standards. Which could include loaning on low amounts.
