Hi Joseph,

Yes, I'd like to buy notes in LA, but open to the possibility of going out of state.  I've been reading that note forum. It's great. Made this thread to talk about notes In LA specifically.

Hi Neph,

I would try to connect with a title company and get access to do searches. For letting you use the service you can promise to use them when you get deals.

Out here (los angeles) the petition tells if they had a house or at least where they lived when they died. Are you sure the petition does not have all that info? For me, I have a harder time getting the PRs info.

Out here we have a probate dept at the courthouse, I would ask the clerk for help. Just any clerk will not know, but a probate clerk would know. If not, stop by one of the (probate) courtrooms while they are not in session and ask the clerk inside the courtroom on which paperwork you can find info about whether the decedent owned property. You can say "a family member died and my mom wants to know if they owned property, what document would I find that on?"

Hope this helps.

I know I want "full authority, no bond," but what does the bond mean to me as a person interested in buying or selling the property?

Thanks

@Mark Pedroza  Thank you so much for those, but how are you getting the vital info you need? That site does not let you know if the person was appointed and in what capacity or if the have a property and the petitioner address. How are you getting that info?

I feel like this is the stupidest question in the world. But I cannot find the answer anywhere. I looked on youtube, did multiple searches for it and can't find an answer.

I don't have the address to the/a property I want to put in the persons name to see if they own property. I have a list, but I have to do it by name. This is easy when I had access to title searches.

Thanks for any help.

Does she have full authority?

I would contact a lawyer.
