love that story! Craigslist and Habitat Restore (sounds like your ReUseIt) are my best friends too. have bought some beautiful windows, doors, plumbing hardware etc that you could never find at Lowes there. it's amazing what people are getting rid of.

agreed with everyone. please never paint brick. it's a nightmare to maintain for the future owners. i believe that if you don't like the color you can stain it with special brick stain. that being said, i agree that a little landscaping and your new windows will make it look great.

after seeing the photo of the house, i think it would look ok to paint the windows and door so it's not obviously plywood. the house looks ok other than that, maybe buyers wouldn't give it too much of a second glance, since your house will be so nice and that's what they're there to see.

sorry to hear that happened. we had a plumber do something similar after we paid half first. and then after about 4 weeks he just showed up and finished, no rhyme or reason. very frustrating.

agreed, fire that dude, get someone else. hope you didn't pay him up front or half first. and i agree with aaron, don't do it yourself. it's worth the money to get it done right.

agreed, Andersen sells wood windows, i'm looking to buy some soon that are wood on the inside and metal on the outside. i believe you can order them at Home Depot or Lowes.
