i dont mean offend anyone here but you have to ask why such an economic titan is on an internet chat board. Shouldn't he be hanging out in the Hamptons with his billionaire buds on Independence Day?

Having goals in life is what keeps us alive and does not allow us to merely exist. I have found that you really need to take a really hard look at why you want to achieve a particular goal. Often, our motivation has nothing to do with that goal. Do we set particular goals because of societal programming? Will achieving that particular goal lead to true happiness or merely a feeling of why? I have always been the goal oriented type but not until a few years ago did I really change my thinking about what it took to achieve a goal. Most everyone sets a goal for whatever reason and then starts to list what they have to DO in order to achieve that goal. I now tend to think about what I have to GIVE UP in order to achieve this goal. Let's say that your goal is to lose weight and get in ripped shape. You first start to think about how you will have to start hitting the gym at least three days a week and running for miles on the other days. Of course there is the issue of a strict diet. No beer, pizza, twinkles, ice cream. Here comes the real issue. Suppose that you and your three best friendship have been meeting every Thursday night for years to eat pizza and drink a few beers. You know your willpower is weak and if you attended you would consume things you shouldn't. Do you GIVE UP this ritual? Suppose your spouse becomes jealous of your fitness and sabatoges your efforts causing marital problems. Are you willing to GIVE UP your marriage? I know this is extreme but it's real. Carefully and thoughtfully set your goals and lock on them like a laser

There are people of every gender, race and nationality in the Forbes 400. The same in entertainemt and politics. We have yet to have a female President but we came very close. We have a variety of people on the Supreme Court. If discrimminatiom is so overpowering and suffocating, how did this come about? The power of the white male establishment is quickly declining. Women and minorities are gaining power each day in this country. Eventually the caucasion male will become a distinct minority. Couple the demographic change with the shaming that white men seem to be willing to accept for their "privilege" and soon there will be no one to blame for a person's failures.

I would ask the inspector for further clarification of the issue with the main beam. Did he supply pictures? The improper slope of the driveway could be a significant issue that could cost more to fix than yiu might think. I dont think that a drainage contractor is specifically required to check out this issue. The same person that checks out the crawlspace will probably be able to evaluate the driveway. Either way, have a contractor look at it if nothing else but for peace of mind.

View this as an opportunity to save commission. Generals deal with generals.
