@Matt Berklacy -  I can't imagine them having a problem with that - assuming you are an American.  Though I'd call their customer service to verify.

Also make sure to do your title and tax work!

@Nick C. -  I think the real problem is that I'm jealous that I haven't come up with an extortion scam that works!! :)

Seriously though,  great points.  Nice to have the "we do us it" side to the conversation.

And yes, it is always that unknown variable of those who didn't call because of X or did call because of Y.  Sadly, we don't have the tools to do that kind of A/B testing.

@Caleb Heimsoth - That makes sense.  I did a bit of research to see who in Memphis was using it and it seems to be more of  the PM and TK guys.

@Alexander Felice - Great point.  Reminds me a lot of angie's list when we owned our contracting business.

@Joe Abughazaleh -  "but has red letters and sounds like help"   I cracked up at that line!  hilarious.   Yes, I have been working hard for my reviews on multiple sites.  I think because my intern is a millennial that I was a bit surprised that she would think of checking the BBB.

@Caleb Heimsoth - Agreed.  We have the address and phone number and I guess I'm real enough to classify as a real person answering the phone. :)    What do you think size/visibility has to do with paying for it?  (Except that costs for BBB go up with the company size!  )

@Aaron K. and @Marcus Auerbach - Thank you for taking the time to respond!

We do already use those reputation tools (except for the pens and jacket).  And I know that something like this is impossible to quantify - just going for that one more thing to make us stand apart!

Also I didn't realize how expensive the BBB is!  Crazy.  According to an online calculator it is like 50-60 a month for our small biz.

@Aaron H. - Thank you!

Definitely don't have the time/patience/desire to reproduce an IC site!

Thanks for taking the time to share all of that.  Lots to think about when creating and maintaining a good lead generation and SEO site!

@Aaron H. - Excellent points!!  Thanks for chiming in!

Even just the difference in wordpress.com and wordpress.org sites is important to know and understand!

All one needs to do is google wordpress themes and that, shows the dramatic differences in sites!

My question was does that web platform choice, in and of itself, make a difference? if so what kind of difference?

We recently hired an intern and during a discussion yesterday she mentioned that she tried to find us on BBB to see if we were legit.

I never thought about having that additional third-party accreditation like BBB would be worth it.  Would someone chose to sell their house to use because of an accreditation they see on our website?

Wondering who uses it?  Why?  and if there are other accreditation services that we should explore as well.

@Taylor Dove - We do both and I think the combo is powerful.  We are already putting in the time/money marketing and now have an additional exit strategy.  The key for us was finding a brokerage with an inexpensive fee base per transaction.

Excited for your future!

@Jerryll Noorden - Hilarious! I absolutely adore your creativity!  I think the book title should be "Rogue SEO"!
