Hi @Liz C......I lived in Lee County from 2008-20012 & have some good memories of my time out in NC.  Had a nice place and some acreage out there before I moved back to my hometown of Las Vegas.  Just as @David Krulac & @Bill B. stated, you have options of where you place your entities regardless of where you live...you just have to decide what works best for your strategy and overhead budget. I invest in Vegas, CA & parts of the Midwest; and operate with NV, WY & CA entities...each for particular investments or JV's I'm part of. I must say though from a comprise of cost of living and weather considerations....IMO, Vegas is the best mix (SoCal is only 4-5 hours away if you want to hit the beach). Just get used to not seeing any pine trees and limited vegetation here in the Vegas Valley! ;-) If you ever want to connect to get the skinny on investing in this region of the county, text me at my number below and we can schedule time to get on the phone! Hi @Robert Sutherland....welcome to BP! You can get an LLC done much cheaper than $4k AND you still need to take into consideration what you're looking to with your business structure. It is best have an idea of what you need with your business structure and pay accordingly for the experts to get it done right. I can refer you to a few options to get your entity created with competence but it would probably make sense for us to connect over the phone to discuss further...and not over a forum (time and privacy considerations). Property management....it just make business sense as a leverage point for efficiency of your time.  It frees you up to focus on living your life and acquiring more property.
