I don't personally own any Air BnB vacation rentals however I did sell an off-market condo to a gentleman who apparently buys/owns a lot of 1 bedroom condos throughout Jacksonville to be used as Air BnB and short term rentals. 

Are you considering doing a BnB yourself?

Jacksonville is definitely a great place for investors. I've built my entire business around that fact! The crime is not bad depending on the area of Jacksonville. Most B class neighborhoods will have low amounts of crime that are comparable to other cities. 

I like Jacksonville because we have the largest urban park system in the country and I have two children 3 years old and 5 months old. For my wife and I we love being able to go on hikes or take our kids to a playground or splash pad every weekend. The beach is also beautiful here. 

I don't know about Tampa but I can tell you that I love the culture here in Jacksonville.

@Michael George I agree with @Melvin List there are other options you could look at. I would recommend reaching out to Trustline Mortgage and see if they can help. They have some very creative financing options.
