Has anyone else had issues setting up a Transunion SmartMove account?  I set up an account a couple of days ago, now I am not able to get back onto it.  I have gone thru the password reset process 2-3 time over last 2 days since I couldn't get past login screen ( so clearly I am at least typing in my email address properly lol).  If I cut and paste password that is sent, it doesn't work, If I type in characters of temporary password (in case cut and paste is not allowable) it doesn't work.

When I enter temp password, it flashes to the resetting your password screen where you type in your new password twice, but then it goes back to original screen after a fraction of a second.

Aside from getting password reset emails, I have not had any luck with getting any customer support.

If anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Thanks BP!

Hey Taps,

Staying focused is one of the most difficult things with REI. Wholesaling, flipping, buy and hold, etc. There are so many ways to make money in REI that it can be hard to concentrate on one method. Someone else always seems to be doing something better, faster, or more profitable.

Sounds like you have some great mentors, a game plan, and some starting capital and that is a great thing.  I certainly understand temporarily loosing focus, but don't be so hard on yourself.  Walking away and letting your brain clear for a short time can sometimes be a good thing.  Just don't use the excuse of seeing who the next person to be voted off the island is keep you from staying the course.  Not a lot of content in this email, just want to be motivational.  BP is a great resource, make sure you use it!

@Account Closed I noticed no one else had commented yet so wanted to say I thought your web site was laid out very nice.  Hopefully "frilly" is what works.  Good luck!

@Christopher Laverdure I think that although equity build-up (just counting mortgage pay down alone) would be counted, it unfortunately is very slow at first....but it does add up.  Assuming that you plan on being around a while (I hope I am) and you own the place long enough, that is part of the beauty of real estate :)

@Christopher Laverdure  Unless I am missing something (I just got home and exhausted lol), your assuming that you will NEVER have any costs other than what you listed, and that it will stay rented 100% of the time (you will always have vacancy at some point).  Just using vacancy alone as an example, one month of vacancy will wipe out 8 months of your profits....two months 16 months of profits....you get the picture.   There are so many other costs that go into a rental.  With a brand new place you are not likely to have many repairs for some time, but you should set aside money for that every month.  Would you manage it, yourself?  I don't know what the norm is in Canada, but management companies will typically want 8-10% of the gross rent (completely eliminating any profit).  I cant recommend using the BP calculator enough.
