@Adam Weitzman google! If your doing it in the city limits just find the right website and it should have enough info to give you an idea. Mine are outside the city in the sticks in the mountains so websites aren’t fantastic but they st least have phome numbers of who to call and in my market that conversation usually goes something like “what’s a permit?” also Google “Airbnb Atlanta“ or whatever city and hit the News button and see how terrifying it looks. Good luck! Just keep asking questions you’ll get there

@Jack Walker. It’s possible! Depends on your market. College kids? Can’t imagine families would want to share rooms unless it’s a big gorgeous bed and breakfast. First question is.... are shorty term rentals legal in your area? Do you need a permit? Can you get a permit? Spend some time on AirBnB. See if anyone else is doing what you’re looking to do, and are they making money (how full is their calendar). Good Luck!

@Demjan Van Der Kach Evolve will be cheaper. Locals charge 40% in my market. Make sure it’s legal before you get too deep!

@Rick Baggenstoss Rick it’s time for the the old one hour phone call with yours truly.

Too much to explain here in a forum post. What you need is someone in your market that is willing to share their numbers with you. Since you’re not likely to find that your next best is to obsess over other listings in your market and get me on the phone. I’m happy to share my numbers and systems. While we may be in different markets (Im in GatlInburg Pigeon Forge) you’ll still learn something.

Of course there’s always airdna if you want to really drive yourself crazy and never end up buying anything ;)

Good luck.

@Alyssa Hammond buy every smoking deal auction property you can find with cash! And if you run out of cash let me know and Ill buy! find the deal and you’ll find the cash. You picked the wrong forum though this has nothing to do with VRs that I can tell. @Paul Sandhu

@Erin Caldwell Why not answer your own question by doing exactly what the question says? Go on AirBnB and look at your neighbors and check out how occupied they are!

@Steve B. I self manage 5 vacation rentals and I assure you.... you don’t want gadgets in your home. Unless you want to answer questions at all hours about how to use the gadgets.

@Rob Denn The hard wired elite still uses WiFi but not batteries. I have one on my home its pretty cool. I dont have cameras on my VRs It would drive me nuts. Have you checked to see if short term rentals are legal in your area? Good luck!
