@Arijit De - we fund portfolio loans all of the time.  And to Stephanie's point, it all depends upon your long-term hold strategy.  If you plan to sell in 5-10 years, then it may be beneficial to do individual loans; however, I have clients who have 30 year portfolio loans where they plan to deed over to their children eventually.
