@Jason Z Smith - 19? How awesome to be investing already!  You may already know about the Sf Bay Summit in February?  I have actually been a couple of times, and it is an excellent networking/learning opportunity.  If you are up in Boise sometime, we have some good opportunities to connect up here as well.

@Stephen Lay - nice portfolio in Boise!  We have our next investor meeting (primarily for BP members) on Feb 5th at 6th if you are in the area then.  @Debbie Dreher - would be very interested in knowing more. I am very familiar with the Eagle market.

@Devin Lutz it sounds like you are budgeting plenty for the roof if they are like Boise pricing. Good luck with the offer- I would make sure they know you are offering lower in lieu of roof replacement prior to closing.

@Kim Ferdin - congrats on the decision to be a Realtor! It is going to depend on your market, like others have said. A key is having an established mentor guide you through your first year, in my opinion. I am a mentor with my brokerage now, and I so appreciated having someone I could call up when I was new as well. Take advantage of all of the training offered by your local MLS and local board as well...I see many trying to wing it and the clients lose. Good luck!

@John Hogg - I think it is great you are meeting with Zoning, they should be a good source of info.  Be sure to get the grandfathered documentation in writing!

This quarter’s Boise Investor Meetup will be held next month on Wednesday, February 5th at 6 PM at Café Ole (near the Boise Towne Square).

These informal meetings are designed to connect Boise-area real estate investors (many of which have been brought together through Biggerpockets.com) to allow for networking and discussion. Please come as you are, grab a drink and a bite.
