I agree with Tim. If you can afford to buy another one, then do it. Like he said if you don't need it later on then you have yourself another rental.

Don't let him scare you. I would definitely report him to TREC, as a real estate agent or broker we have to follow rules and act with honesty and integrity. Whats fair is fair and you haven't received your money which is totally not fair to you. He should have done a better job at mediating this issue with both you and the seller. Also saying he will put all your personal information on the internet doesn't show integrity, So I would report him.
