@Tarik F. try reaching out to Daryl Askew. I haven't worked with him, but he had a post recently stating he was looking for investors to work with.

Welcome to BP @Shawntavia Bell! @Jay Dewberry is correct. Take your time before trying to find a mentor. I'm sure that as you engage people on the site and the local meet-ups you will develop a relationship with some organically. Also, educate yourself as much as possible. There is plenty of free education on the forums as well as the podcasts. When you do meet others, you want to be able to engage them intelligently on certain topics. This is what will help you to develop the relationships.
Last tip, make sure you set-up keyword alerts for any topics you may be interested in (e.g. short sales, Lithia Springs, mentor, etc...).
Enjoy your journey and reach out if you need help.

Welcome to BP @Robert Carroll! Make sure you set-up some keyword alerts to notify you of topics that you have an interest in (e.g. atlanta, meetup, property manager, etc...). This will help you keep a pulse on the current discussions. Also, don't hesitate to reach out to the members here on the site, they have been very helpful to me. When you have some time, try to attend a local Bigger Pockets meet-up (several occur in the area). You can find them with keyword alerts or by going to the forum section dedicated to meetups. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Welcome to BP @Account Closed! Your certainly doing the right thing by joining this community. There is a lot of education available on the forums for free, so take advantage. Set-up some "Keyword Alerts" so that you are alerted about topics or locations your interested in (e.g. flipping, atlanta, 30324, etc...). If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to others here on the forums as well.
Also, I recommend attending a BP meet-up. I have attended several and the in-person networking cannot be replaced. I find them by using keyword alerts (meetup, meet-up, atlanta), but you also search a specific area of the forums dedicated to this here:

Good luck!

@James Park I live on the Gwinnett side of Suwanee. I take it you are in Johns Creek right?
Also, thanks for the clarification, that makes perfect sense. I have a rental in Lawrenceville that has been appreciating well over the last few years and I'm hoping will continue. From a population standpoint, it seems like the area is really picking up steam.

A skeptical spouse can actually be a huge benefit. Convincing a skeptic will often help you fill in the gaps and mitigate risk where you hadn't thought about it before. Also, it helps develop your skill-set for making deals down the road (because to explain it, you have to understand it). My wife is very conservative, so I had to make it real for her by having her listen to some podcast. You can also have her attend a meet-up, where she can hear more seasoned investors that already have success. I found ways to work investment into the conversation when the opportunity presented itself (for instance when we passed a distressed property or saw our 401k's take a hit from the stock market). Whatever you do, don't rush it or try to push her into it and respect her concerns.
